EgyptAir is the state-owned flag carrier of Egypt. The airline is headquartered at Cairo International Airport, its main hub, operating scheduled passenger and freight services to 84 international and nine domestic destinations across 56 countries in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas, as of June 2026. Egyptair is a member of Star Alliance, and is the only carrier based in the MENA region to belong to the alliance.

Pay lands on time and the per diems are accurate, which is more than I can say for my last airline. What wears you down is the standby pattern and how late the changes come through. [demo]

The roster is published on the 25th and changes several times before the month starts. Days off get rostered and then removed at short notice, which makes anything outside work impossible to plan. [demo]

Good route mix, not the same four sectors forever.
Cons
Standby patterns are punishing.

Fatigue reports get acknowledged and then closed with no change. Safety reports are handled properly, so it is clearly a crewing problem rather than a culture problem, but that does not help when you are on your fourth…
